Biselli + Katchborian Arquitetos - CEU Pimentas, Guarulhos SP, Brazil

Located in a district with a lack of civic services this new building condenses a group of activities (sports, education, library, etc) around a free central space that ends in a big covered gymnasium. The huge building was conceived as a city itself, where the main atrium is like a covered street, with no programme, or better, with no activity limits; a really civic and democratic space

The gymnasium volume marks the end of the building with its special shape

The central space has a minimum of furniture in order to allow a free use of it

Atrium perspective from the building entrance

Entrance view from the street

The elevator volume is used as a urban sign to mark the access of the building and balance the horizontality
